Dear Fellow Pennsylvanians:

Did you ever wonder how you — as one person — can make a difference in the culture here in our state? Or, how you can have a voice in our government? We can help!

Your vote is your voice, and your right to vote is a privilege, one of the precious freedoms many have fought and died to protect. It should not be taken for granted. Voting allows you the opportunity to have a voice in who governs our state and nation.

The 2010 Primary Election Voter’s Guide is an educational effort of the Pennsylvania Family Institute. This online, interactive guide is designed to help you cast an informed vote in the upcoming Primary Election on May 18, 2010. This guide is impartial and non-partisan. Visit wwwPaFamilyVoter.com.

Please take the time to compare the candidates in this guide, and be sure to cast your votes on Tuesday, May 18, 2010.

HOW TO USE THIS GUIDE

  • To identify your districts, begin by entering your zip code.
  • To help determine which candidates deserve your vote, review and answer the questions yourself, then compare your positions to the candidates’ answers.
  • Remember that in Pennsylvania’s Primary Election, voters can only vote for candidates of your same party affiliation, for the purpose of deciding who will appear on your general election ballot on Nov. 2, 2010.

WHAT RACES ARE COVERED

  • U.S. Senate
  • Governor of Pennsylvania
  • Lieutenant Governor
  • Contested races only (where there is more than one candidate on Democrat or Republican ballot) for these local offices:
  • U.S. House of Representatives (Congress)
  • State Senate
  • State House of Representatives

We regret that not every candidate responded to our questionnaire. All candidates were provided multiple opportunities to respond to our survey questions — by mail, telephone, E-mail and fax.

But you can help change that! For candidates that did not respond, we’ve provided the candidate’s contact information so you can contact them yourself to ask their positions on issues — or to encourage them to contact us ASAP to complete our candidate questionnaire so we can update their information here.

This Voter’s Guide would not be possible without the generous support of individuals around our state.
