Our Mission and Vision

The Mission of the Pennsylvania Family Institute is to strengthen families by restoring to public life the traditional, foundational principles and values essential for the well-being of society. We are the only full-time, professionally staffed non-profit organization representing family values—your values—in the state capitol. We encourage responsible citizenship and involvement in civic affairs to promote respect for life, family, marriage and religious liberty. Our goal is for Pennsylvania to be a place where God is honored, religious freedom flourishes, families thrive, and life is cherished.

Three-Fold Strategy of Impact

Policy Makers | We are your voice in the Capitol, providing public officials with research, insight and encouragement to do the right thing for our families and our future.

Media | We’re a steady, common sense voice for life, for marriage and for religious liberty on the air, in print and online, bringing a winsome pro-family perspective where it is too often absent or ignored.

The Family | We’re here for moms and dads. We’re here for churches and community groups across the state, helping them to be good parents and spouses at home and good citizens and leaders in public life.

Through its Independence Law Center, the Institute engages in the legal arena, defending the constitutional rights of citizens against challenges to life, religious freedom and the historic and beneficial role of family and marriage.

The Pennsylvania Family Institute is a 501(c)3 organization supported by the generous contributions and ongoing pledges made by individuals, families, churches, businesses and private foundations. We do not seek, and have never received government funding. Your support today for our ongoing pro-family work is always welcomed and appreciated. Your donation is sincerely appreciated.

Pennsylvania’s Unique Heritage

Pennsylvania is unique among the states in its heritage of liberty, religious freedom, and a strong moral base at its foundation. William Penn called the Commonwealth a Holy Experiment. General George Washington and his troops sought divine providence at Valley Forge. Independence Hall in Philadelphia witnessed the hammering out of the hallowed documents of our nation’s founding. And the blood-soaked soil of Gettysburg is testimony to the price paid for our liberties, liberties our forefathers sought to secure for succeeding generations — our posterity.

The time is now to restore those founding principles — that moral base that under girds the family and forms the basis for a free society. Pennsylvania Family Institute exists to lead toward that goal, and to provide resources and direction to all who desire to be involved.
