June brings with it more than just the start of summer. It comes with a full-scale cultural campaign—rainbow flags lining main streets, school lessons on gender identity, and corporate messaging reinforcing a worldview challenging the biblical understanding of human nature and truth. Pride Month has become a megaphone for an ideology that seeks to redefine identity, love, and even biological reality itself.
For those who affirm God’s design for human sexuality, rooted in the creation of male and female and the intrinsic worth of every person, this month is an opportunity to offer a biblical response to pride month. Is it a time not to shrink back, but to stand tall. It is a time to teach, train, and disciple the next generation in truth.
Standing Firm in a Culture of Confusion
We must begin with this foundational truth: every human being is made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). That includes our neighbors, classmates, coworkers, and even those who disagree with us. Dignity is not optional. But neither is objective and biblical truth.
Our culture has embraced a counterfeit version of love—one that equates affirmation with compassion and feelings with reality. But real love doesn’t lie. As Scripture reminds us, “Love does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth” (1 Corinthians 13:6). It is neither kind nor caring to affirm something that is false or harmful. Silence in the face of deception is not love—it is surrender.
Instead, as Romans 12:2 charges us, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” This is the time for Christians to model conviction with compassion and to speak clearly in love, especially for the sake of the next generation.
Why Discipleship on Sexuality Matters Now More Than Ever
The battle for truth isn’t just being waged in politics or on social media—it’s happening in classrooms, libraries, sports fields, and living rooms. The Supreme Court is currently considering Mahmoud v. Taylor, a pivotal case that could determine whether parents have the right to shield their children from LGBT ideology in schools. Meanwhile, here in Pennsylvania, proposed legislation like the so-called “Fairness Act” threatens to punish anyone, including schools, ministries, and medical professionals, who continue to hold a biblical view of gender and sexuality.
These are not abstract debates. They are spiritual and moral battlegrounds with real-life implications for families, churches, and especially our children. We cannot afford to outsource their formation. If we are not intentionally shaping their understanding of identity, the world will do it for us.
Equip Yourself. Equip Your Family.
Discipleship begins at home. And thankfully, there are biblically faithful tools to help you start or deepen these conversations.
We highly recommend the following two online resources:
1. The Holy Sexuality Project with Dr. Christopher Yuan
From a former agnostic gay man to a pastor and Bible professor, Dr. Yuan’s testimony and teaching powerfully reflect God’s redemptive design for sexuality. This 12-lesson video series is designed for parents and teens to walk through together, covering identity, temptation, marriage, singleness, gender, and more. The project includes over 270 minutes of video content and a step-by-step parent guide with thoughtful, conversation-starting questions to build trust and biblical understanding. Cost: $20 for a two-year license for individual households
2. The Identity Project from the Colson Center
This free video library features more than 200 biblically grounded videos on topics like parenting, sexuality, and identity, with guidance from trusted Christian leaders and ministries. Whether you’re raising kids, teaching students, counseling others, or engaging in policy, the Identity Project offers clear, hopeful tools to shape thinking and promote truth in a confused culture. Cost: Free.
For parents—and for pastors seeking to better equip the families in their congregation—one other highly recommended resource is Secure Daughters, Confident Sons by family researcher Dr. Glenn T. Stanton. In a culture that often confuses or distorts gender roles, this insightful book offers a biblically grounded and research-based guide for raising children to embrace authentic masculinity and femininity.
Dr. Stanton helps parents understand what gender-appropriate behavior looks like across various stages of development, dispelling common myths while encouraging moms and dads to celebrate the distinct, God-given design of their sons and daughters. With practical advice, real-life examples, and a compelling vision for raising confident, secure children, this book is a valuable tool for any parent—or church leader—committed to helping the next generation flourish in the truth of who God created them to be.
Lead with Courage, Not Compromise
Whether you’re a parent, pastor, teacher, or simply someone who cares about truth and the next generation, the challenge before us is clear: Will we speak truth, or will we remain silent?
You don’t need to be an expert. But you do need to be present—and intentional. Attend the school board meeting. Speak up in the parent group chat. Ask your pastor what your church is doing to disciple students in these areas. Have hard conversations at home. Most of all, pray—pray for your legislators, your church, your kids, and your community.
This month and every month, your influence matters.

A Final Word
At the PA Family Institute, we believe in truth with compassion. We believe in human dignity and biological reality. And we believe that the best way to resist deception is not with anger or apathy, but with clarity, courage, and love rooted in God’s Word.
The stakes are high—but so is the opportunity. Let this month be a turning point—not just in resisting the lies, but in proactively shaping a generation that knows who they are and Whose they are.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid…for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9

Chaplain Rusty Trubey and Independence Law Center’s Chief Counsel Randall Wenger were on Morning Light to discuss Chaplain Trubey’s sermon censorship, his fight for religious liberty, and his subsequent victory. The U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs has stopped an unconstitutional “sermon review” policy that threatened to censor chaplains at the Coatesville, PA VA Medical Center. After Chaplain Trubey was initially suspended for preaching from Romans 1, his rights—and the rights of chaplains across the country—are now protected. This bold reversal ensures chaplains can continue preaching the truth without fear of punishment.
