7th Planned Parenthood facility to close in PA since 2013.

On the heels of their record political spending this election, Planned Parenthood announces they are closing another facility in Pennsylvania, marking the 7th closing since 2013.

Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion business in both the state and nation, is shutting down their Scranton office at 316 Penn Avenue, effective December 1st.

The decision was made “to ensure the longevity and strength of existing medical centers,” says Melissa Reed, CEO of Planned Parenthood Keystone (one of three regions in Pennsylvania).

This comes after Planned Parenthood spent millions in the 2016 election. They bought a $1.3 million ad buy against Senator Pat Toomey. It’s reported they spent $30 million in various states, including Pennsylvania, to turn out voters for the presidential contest and various U.S. Senate races. They also mailed hundreds of thousands of fliers pusing pro-abortion candidates.

Scranton now joins closings in Carlisle (June 2013), Collegeville (October 2013), Hanover (June 2014), Philadelphia (2016), Red Lion (2016) and St. Davids (September 2015), totaling seven shutdowns for Planned Parenthood in Pennsylvania.

Since 2012, there have been a total of THIRTEEN abortion facility closings in Pennsylvania. Five abortion surgical sites closed as a direct result of new state policy that improved health and safety standards for abortion facilities. Three closed voluntarily (UPMC Magee, Allegheny Women’s Center – Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh Physicians). Two were forced to close by the state, both associated with the infamous Steven Brigham (Allentown Medical Services and American Women’s Services).

In addition, the Integrity Family Health in Philadelphia – another attempt by Brigham to run an abortion clinic – was ordered to close in November 2013.

Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion business in Pennsylvania; accounting for over half of all state abortions. They continue to receive millions in state and federal funding every year.
