Today the U.S. Senate failed to pass the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, legislation that would have ended late-term abortion past five months of pregnancy; a time when science definitively tells us the unborn child feels pain. Even though the majority of Senators voted for passage (54-42 roll call vote), the current U.S. Senate rules must allow for 60 total votes in order to end the debate (cloture) on the bill to advance to final passage.
“It is sickening that our country’s elected leaders cannot agree to end late-term abortion in our nation,” says Michael Geer, President of the Pennsylvania Family Council. “Even with the advancements in scientific evidence and the support of the majority of Americans, our leaders failed to pass the common-sense Pain-Capable abortion limit.”

Pennsylvania state law permits late-term abortion through six months of pregnancy (24 weeks). The PA Family Council calls upon our state and federal leaders to act upon ending this barbaric practice.
God sees and those unfeeling enough to vote against this protection have blood on their hands.
May they turn & Repent.
