Monday April 13 @ 11:30am | State Capitol Rotunda

(Harrisburg, PA) April 10, 2015 – Human rights advocates are hoping to reopen the conversation about the impact of abortion on Pennsylvania’s communities. An initiative called “AbortionisPersonal.org” plans to release a report during a State Capitol rotunda event this Monday.

CAPITOL ROTUNDA EVENT:

“We’re confronted with the puzzling reality that although there’s been a small decline in the abortion rate in Pennsylvania, the numbers have remained dramatically high since the 1990’s,” said former PA state representative, Jeff Coleman. Adding, “It’s been a very long time since we’ve had a thoughtful, fact-based discussion about ways to reduce abortion and provide a realistic pathway to parenting for women in real need.”

Coleman will serve as event host for the Capitol Rotunda conversation on Monday, April 13 starting at 11:30 a.m.

WEBSITE LAUNCHING:

AbortionisPersonal.org is launching on Life Action Day as a resource for Pennsylvanians committed to understanding the true impact of abortion on women, their families and their communities. In 2013, Pennsylvania’s latest reporting, over 32,000 abortions were performed in the state.

The website will include the release of a new report on the state of abortion in Pennsylvania – including abortion facilities’ quarterly reports that have never before been provided online. The report also looks at the largest abortion provider in Pennsylvania – Planned Parenthood.

“Abortion is big business for Planned Parenthood; spending record amounts to profit from power politics,” said Michael Geer, president for the Pennsylvania Family Council – the main sponsor of Life Action Day. Planned Parenthood is Pennsylvania’s largest and most lucrative abortion provider; with 33 locations bringing in some $35 million in annual revenue. As the unquestioned market leader, Planned Parenthood performs over 50% of abortions in the Commonwealth while receiving millions in taxpayers funding.

On Monday, April 13 Pennsylvanians will rally in the rotunda to highlight abortion in our state and ultimately how the Commonwealth can encouraging childbirth over abortion.
