Why These Courageous Men Are In Court

Randall Wenger – our Chief Counsel – along with Jeff Conrad and Emily Musser-Bell of Clymer, Musser & Conrad have been putting in tireless hours in preparation for a federal court case starting Monday (January 12); and your prayers for all involved would be appreciated.

The legal team is defending The King’s Men, a Christian men’s organization committed to helping men grow spiritually, and to fighting obscenity and pornography in our communities.

PA Families Cover - Summer 2008The King’s Men have been effective in having a prayerful, legal presence outside of “adult” bookstores and strip clubs in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Their efforts have significantly impacted the business of such clubs – even so far as one strip club in Bucks County going out of business and a family restaurant taking its place. We highlighted The King’s Men efforts in our article Loyal Servants to the King back in 2008.

The Independence Law Center’s efforts with The King’s Men and others have been so effective that a memo by a strip club owner to other owners warned them about us, saying:

“This organization will be the downfall of all adult clubs in Pennsylvania.”

That brings us to Monday’s court hearing. Because of this effectiveness, a sex-oriented business in Montgomery County has sued The King’s Men on a series of charges.

These charges are ridiculous and we’re confident in our case – but there are no guarantees. Please pray for the attorneys involved in the case, and for The King’s Men – that God would protect and guide them as they stand up for righteousness.

Everyone should have the right to stand up for their principles and be free to publicly declare those principles – just like the ways The King’s Men have shown. Thank you for keeping them men in your prayers.
