Democrats House leadership in Harrisburg blocked a critical effort yesterday to advance the Save Women’s Sports Act (SB9), opting instead for a procedural maneuver that delays fair competition and privacy protections for girls across Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania Family Council is urging Democrat House leaders to stop the political games and support bringing SB9 to the House floor for an immediate vote.
The following statement can be attributed to Emily Kreps, Legal Assistant at PA Family Council:
“Girls across Pennsylvania deserve to know their lawmakers are willing to fight for their right to fair competition and private spaces. Sadly, by sidestepping a vote on SB9, Democrat House leadership sent the opposite message today. We call on legislators to do what’s right—support moving this bill to the House floor without further delay. Our daughters shouldn’t have to compete against or change alongside men simply because adults in Harrisburg refuse to act.”
The following statement can be attributed to Dan Bartkowiak, Chief Strategy Officer, at PA Family Council:
“It’s troubling to see Democrat House leadership twist procedural rules to crush the hopes of girls who simply want fair play. After months of inaction in Chairman Schweyer’s committee, and a sudden snap-call meeting just to derail it, this excuse rings hollow. Pennsylvania families deserve honesty, not procedural games. Women and girls deserve fairness and safety, not delay. It’s time for lawmakers to back a vote on SB9 and show they’re serious about saving women’s sports.”
