These words from 1 Thessalonians 5:17 inspire our latest initiative at Pennsylvania Family Institute—the 5:17 Prayer Coalition. We’re launching a movement to unite believers across Pennsylvania in daily prayer for our state and nation.
The 5:17 Prayer Coalition calls on individuals to pray daily at either 5:17 AM or PM, seeking God’s wisdom and guidance for our mission to strengthen families and restore traditional, foundational principles to public life. As Scripture reminds us, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

When you join the coalition, you’ll receive weekly prayer points via email to guide your intercession. These focused prayer requests help align our community’s prayers with current needs and initiatives.
Our impact strategy reaches across three vital areas: serving as your voice to policy makers in the Capitol, providing a steady, common-sense perspective in media, and supporting families, churches, and community groups across Pennsylvania. While we encourage everyone to actively participate in their civic duty—whether by speaking at school board meetings, engaging in Biblical discipleship, or calling elected representatives—we recognize that these efforts can only bear fruit through God’s blessings and grace.
As Pennsylvania’s only full-time, professionally staffed non-profit organization representing family values in the state capitol, we recognize the truth that without God, we can do nothing.
