As parents, educators, and concerned citizens, it’s crucial to stay informed about the influences shaping our children’s education. In a recent interview on The Dom Giordano Show, Michael Geer, president of the Pennsylvania Family Institute, shed light on an alarming new strategy by Planned Parenthood that’s targeting Pennsylvania schools.
According to Geer, Planned Parenthood is planning a significant push into school board elections across the state in 2025. Their goal? To influence curriculum, introduce controversial sex education programs, and even expand access to puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones for minors—all under the guise of health and education.
Geer explained that while Planned Parenthood has long been involved in political campaigns and public policies, their direct engagement in school board races is a newer development. For instance, in 2023, they endorsed candidates in Lancaster County’s Mannheim Township School District, all of whom won. This success highlights the political muscle they can bring to even local elections.
But their ambitions don’t stop at influencing who sits on school boards. Planned Parenthood has a history of promoting comprehensive sex education programs that often lack boundaries and emphasize sexual activity without addressing the risks. In addition, they are now one of the largest providers of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones in the country—a troubling fact considering the increasing number of young people being directed toward these irreversible treatments.
This issue isn’t just about education; it’s about protecting children from being subjected to radical ideologies. While Planned Parenthood seeks to push its agenda, parents and community members must step up and engage in school board elections to ensure their values are represented.
The stakes couldn’t be higher. As Geer noted, many of these local elections fly under the radar, but their impact is far-reaching. The decisions made in school board meetings influence not just what’s taught in classrooms but the values that shape future generations.
