Thousands expected to rally and march for life in Harrisburg.

(HARRISBURG, PA – September 20, 2021) On Monday, September 27th, thousands of Pennsylvania citizens will rally at the front steps of the PA State Capitol in Harrisburg followed by a march around the Capitol complex for the first-ever Pennsylvania March for Life. Their aim: to call on Pennsylvania’s leaders to protect all innocent human life from conception until natural death.

“Former PA Democrat Governor Bob Casey, Sr. once asked, ‘Who will speak for the unborn child?,’” comments Michael Geer, President of the Pennsylvania Family Institute. “On September 27, thousands from all across this great Commonwealth will unite and speak loudly for the unborn child at this historic Pennsylvania March for Life.”

The rally takes place at 11am followed by a march around the State Capitol Building at 12 noon.

“March for Life is delighted to partner with PA Family Institute on the historic first PA March for Life,” says Jeanne Mancini, President of the March for Life Education and Defense Fund. “Every human life should be valued and deserves legal protection, and that is our goal.”

The powerful list of rally speakers for the Pennsylvania March for Life include:

  • Speaker of the PA House Bryan Cutler
  • PA Senate Majority Leader Kim Ward
  • Abby Johnson – former Planned Parenthood director turned pro-life advocate, author of Unplanned
  • Ryan Bomberger – President, The Radiance Foundation
  • Jeanne Mancini – President, March for Life Education and Defense Fund
  • Elena Liguori, Graduate student – University of Pittsburgh
  • Toni McFadden, Founder of Relationships Matter
  • Michael Geer – President, PA Family Institute
  • Rev. Herb Lusk III – Greater Exodus Baptist Church in Philadelphia
  • Bishop Ronald Gainer – Diocese of Harrisburg

“Since the 1973 Roe v. Wade U.S. Supreme Court abortion decision, well over two million unborn babies have lost their lives to abortion in Pennsylvania alone,” said Geer. “Every day in our commonwealth, the lives of over 80 unborn babies are taken through abortion. And that’s why we march. It’s time for this to end.”

Looming over Pennsylvania is a shameful lawsuit by the abortion industry, asking the state Supreme Court to force taxpayer funding of abortion and to find a “right to abortion” in the Pennsylvania Constitution – a ruling which could allow abortions right up to the moment of birth.

And this amidst calls for investigations into the callous treatment of aborted babies for experiments at the University of Pittsburgh, including the grafting of aborted babies’ scalps onto lab rats.

“For these reasons – and many more – thousands of Pennsylvanians are coming from every corner of Pennsylvania to march for life,” adds Geer. “It’s time for Pennsylvanians to show our support for protecting the most vulnerable among us: unborn children.”
