For more than 10 years and with your help, Pennsylvania Family Council has successfully stood against attempts to amend Pennsylvania’s Human Relations Act to create special protected classes for “actual or perceived” “sexual orientation” and “gender identity.”
Why?
Because we know that this would create an insidious public policy that would result in treating anyone with a conscientious objection to homosexual activity or lifestyle, as an enemy of the state. It would pit religious faith and conviction against a new state-protected behavior that could violate our cherished free exercise of religion — in our schools, in our businesses, in our ministries and in the public square.
We bring to your attention two excellent opinion columns that were published today in The Philadelphia Inquirer and on the Philly.com website that help expose the dangers of such policy, currently being pushed in Harrisburg as House Bill 300 and Senate Bill 300. The advocates of these bills claim newfound support, so it is a critical time to speak up against HB/SB 300.
What You Can Do:
1. Get informed. Read today’s articles about the dangers of these bills. See links below.
“The naked truth about gender-ID” is by Pennsylvania Family Institute’s own Brandon McGinley, pointing out some of the real consequences of what has rightly been called in other states, “the bathroom bill,” because of some of the outrageous mandates this type of law would bring.

“Bill an attack on religious freedom” is an excellent column by State Rep. Tim Krieger, R-Westmoreland, an example of a thoughtful and bold lawmaker who is sounding a warning about the threats to our religious freedom.

2. Tell your state representative and state senator to oppose HB 300 and SB 300. (Use our Citizen Action Center to E-mail or call.)
3. Spread the word to your friends, family, and church by sharing this on Facebook, Twitter and forwarding to your contacts.
