Will You Pray Today? “If My people…”

Nov 1, 2010 | 0 comments

I would like to encourage you to spend some extra time today in prayer specifically praying for our upcoming elections.

Today is our Day2Pray – citizens across Pennsylvania asking God to strengthen and protect our great state in the years to come. (Click here to sign up for a specific prayer time.)

In the daily devotional book My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers, the entry for November 2nd entitled “Authority and Independence” offers some great inspiration for us today:

“Our Lord never insists upon obedience; He tells us very emphatically what we ought to do, but He never takes means to make us do it. We have to obey Him out of a oneness of spirit. That is why whenever Our Lord talked about discipleship, He prefaced it with an IF – you do not need to unless you like.” (Click here to read the entire entry.)

As we approach Election Day, may you be reminded of a great promise from Our Lord that He prefaced with an IF:

“If My people who are called by My Name humble themselves and pray, and see My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, will forgive their sins and heal their land.”  (II Chron. 7:14)

Thank you for your prayers and may God restore to Pennsylvania the traditional, foundational principles and values essential for the well-being our of families.
