The Philadelphia Inquirer front page story has gay activists hailing former Mayor John Street as he is set to preside over the “marriage” ceremony of two men. Nevermind that gay marriage is illegal by statute in Pennsylvania. To top that, the ceremony will take place in Phila. City Hall.

This is just one more reason why Pennsylvania NEEDS a Marriage Protection Amendment to the State Constitution.
Exactly right. With elected officials free to change their minds about core moral issues at their own whim, an amendment is the only secure means to fight off the cultural radicals. And ultimately even a state amendment might not be enough–we need a federal Amendment to the Constitution on this.
