Planned Parenthood in Pennsylvania, though seeing fewer patients and offering fewer basic services, has grown their statewide market share on abortion.

Here is the top 10 list for abortion facilities (by volume) in Pennsylvania for 2015*:

  1. Philadelphia Women’s Center: 5,807
  2. Planned Parenthood Southeastern PA – Locust Street: 4,813
  3. Planned Parenthood Pittsburgh: 3,198
  4. Planned Parenthood Southeastern PA – Comly Road: 2,960

  7. Planned Parenthood Allentown: 1,002
  8. Planned Parenthood Northeast/Bucks: 913

Planned Parenthood continues to be Pennsylvania’s largest abortion business.

In 2014, according to quarterly facilities reports, Planned Parenthood performed 15,346 abortions. Their 2015 total? 17,123.  That’s nearly a 12% increase.

As has continued in recent years, eight of the top ten abortion facilities in Pennsylvania, based on volume, are Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood is growing their collective abortion market share in PA.

The two largest Planned Parenthood abortion facilities have actually had a drop in abortions. In 2013, Planned Parenthood on Locust Street in Philadelphia was performing the most abortions for any one location in PA. In 2014, Philadelphia Women’s Center became the single largest abortion center and that margin grew in 2015.

Yet Planned Parenthood has continued to grow their statewide abortion totals, with facilities such as their Harrisburg and York locations performing hundreds of abortions every year.

Pittsburgh is a growing market for Planned Parenthood and their abortion services.

In recent years, Planned Parenthood in Pittsburgh has seen a large increase in abortions, up 28% since 2014 and up 35% since 2013.

Pittsburgh was also host to Planned Parenthood’s national summit in May 2016, aiming to recruit volunteers for “political and civic engagement” in this year’s election and to “change the nature of power in this country.”

Planned Parenthood Western Pennsylvania also received nearly $500,000 in government funding for 2015, marking a 42% increase from the previous year.
