The budget is not the only thing being debated on by members of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. In a 96-93 vote on Wednesday, the PA House added an amendment to the already dangerous HB 649 that would allow video gambling in private clubs and taverns.

96 Representatives think it is ok to combine the most addictive form of gambling with local establishments that focus on the sale of alcohol. This amendment is a reckless idea that does not put the care for Pennsylvania citizens first and foremost.

HB 649 Not Safe for ChildrenHB 649 would bring gambling out of casinos and into any household across Pennsylvania. It’s not safe for children, it’s bad for those living in poverty and, just as other states have shown, it’s “revenue” projections will prove wrong. Tell your State Representative & State Senator no to any state-sponsored online gambling and to vote against HB 649.
