UCLA Prohibits Student from Saying ‘Jesus’ in Graduation Speech Christian Newswire (5 June, 2009) -A professor had asked for a student to remove “I want to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” from her speech because he believed it infringed upon the seperation of church and state doctrine.  If he was going to be technical, shouldn’t he have considered how his censorship of her word choice would then be denying her the first amendment, her right to freedom of expression?

In response, 400 Students Defy UCLA and Stand to Recite the Lord’s Prayer at Graduation.  As well as, UCLA”s administration had made the decision to allow the student to thank Jesus at the graduation after all.
