Those who support marriage ousted from public eye

As we’re told time and time again by liberal activists, the media, and progressives everywhere, those of us who believe that marriage is between a husband and wife are out of sync and unpopular in today’s society.

Even our own senator from Pennsylvania, Bob Casey, Jr has turned his back on his Catholic faith and announces he now supports so-called “same-sex marriage” to appease the special-interest lobby. It’s the “cool thing to do.”

Meanwhile, those who stand by their faith and principles are being shut down and attacked. Here are some stories from this week’s news:

-Students at George Washington University are attempting to remove a Catholic priest from campus, because he actually believes in Catholic teachings on life and marriage. Read more here.

-Students at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine are petitioning to remove Dr. Ben Carson, renowned pediatric neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins, from speaking at the commencement ceremony because he stated that he believes marriage is between a man and a woman. Read more here.

But, Dr. Carson and Father Shaffer are fighting back, and so should we, for tomorrow’s children. Marriage is an institution older than the whims of today’s culture. Marriage has a special, unique nature – a bond that brings the two halves of humanity – male and female – together in a commitment that best serves the children that likely will result from that bond.

This is a battle worth fighting. Stand strong.
