Please Pray this Inauguration Day

Today marks the inauguration of Governor-elect Tom Corbett and his administration. As our new Governor takes the oath of office, please be reminded of the importance of prayer for those that are in authority.

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior. Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:1-4)

As we dedicate Inauguration 2011 as a Day2Pray, please pray for Pennsylvania. Pray for this new administration. Pray for godliness and honesty in the carrying out of their responsibilities and duties as representatives of the people of Pennsylvania.

Be in prayer for our State Legislators, both in the House and Senate, and for their administrative staff. Pray for their families, for their marriages and for their safety in the coming legislative session.

Please ask God to grant those in authority wisdom and understanding with each piece of proposed legislation. May each passed law be good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.

By God’s grace may He grant us favor this year in strengthening families here in Pennsylvania.

Soli Deo Gloria.
